When the little chicks come home to roost
A handful of chickpea pods seemed dry enough to gather this morning.
Each chubby little pod, about the size of the top joint of my pinky finger, yields a single little pea.
At least now I know I can grow cicer arietinum.
From this morning’s haul, I have enough seed to bank for next year, though there are still a lot of green pods hanging out on the 12 or so bushes I managed to nurture.
