The colour purple

Hyacinth Beans (Lablab purpureus) are putting out lovely long sprays of purple blooms, adding to the catalog of purple in the garden and making for a beautiful view from the kitchen sink.

Although the flowers of this tropical African native are edible, (as are the leaves), I’m looking forward to the bean pods which are also a lovely purple.
