Sustaining myself

Finally finished shelling the dried pulse harvest.

I grew about 11 different variety of bean and pea, 8 of which were for drying. The 2020 season yielded just on 6lbs of dried beans - my protein staple.

I saved seeds but since my small garden doesn’t allow for great distancing, and they are open pollinated, I am not sure whether the integrity of these heirlooms will be preserved. 2021 harvest will tell me a bit about the beans and the bees. In a manner of speaking.
