It was cold last night. No frost, fortunately for the tender young things out there, but the Kitchen Window Birdbath did freeze.
I was alerted to this situation by a little bird swooping in for a drink and looking around somewhat bewildered, rather like the folks I see in the toilet paper aisles of the grocery store.
By mid morning it was liquid again. The wildlife watering stations which sit on the ground, not on a pedestal as this one, did not freeze
