The Spanish apparently knew this place as Ojo Caliente de Las Palomas. The geothermal hot springs are still present.
The call of doves is also a constant soundtrack to my days.
Outcome of today’s dove stalking.
A Eurasian Collared Dove (with the black ring on the neck) visited the Kitchen Window Birdbath.
Later in the day a little Inca Dove (with the tan edged feathers giving it a ruffled look) was spotted sand bathing in the newly turned earth of yesterday’s gardening efforts.
Sometimes there are large flocks of Inca doves (aka Mexican doves) in the Back Forty.
A White Winged Dove surveys the neighborhood from the fence. I had not noticed before that the blue surrounding the eye on the White Wunged Dove mimics the New Mexican sky blue.
