How to deal with triple digit Chihuahuan desert August temperatures?
Chilled lemongrass tea: peridot green, this jewel of a beverage is refreshing and delicious.
I make a big batch at dawn by pouring boiling water over a handful of lemongrass leaves, then it goes into the refrigerator for a few hours while I do yard work and other morning things. I like to drink it plain, savoring the subtle citrusy lemongrass flavour reminiscent of Thai cooking. One could, however, add honey or mint or ginger depending on one’s palate.
The bushel basket vines are currently loving the lemongrass to smotheration anyway. #6thavenueshala
