Pruned the sunflowers this morning to allow more light and air into the Milagro corn and bean field now that the corn is tasseling.

Sunflowers in every room in the hacienda.

Two totes of chopped biomass for the worm farm

A bowl of flower buds for steaming to eat drizzled with olive oil, black pepper and a sprinkle of sumac.

Some will be quick pickled in cider vinegar. Pickled anything is popular in my world.

There are still more than enough sunflowers out there for the birds and the bees. Helianthus annuus is such a generous and exuberant plant.
