Morning harvest: probably the last bowl of shelling peas this season as we settle into summer heat in the desert.
The rest of the pods on the plants will be dried: winter soups and seed bank for next year.
I possibly sowed my peas a little late this year. Next year pea seed will go in a few weeks earlier, hopefully for sweeter pods. According to my somewhat erratic garden diary keeping these were sown March 10.
