Beets. It’s what’s on the table today.

Weather is getting a bit hot now in the Chihuahuan desert for this cool season crop so they must all come out before they get woody.

Pickled beets is probably today’s kitchen alchemy though this little bunch is destined to be oven roasted with rosemary and olive oil . Roasting beetroot on the braai (barbecue to some of you) grill would be good too but I’m not making a fire today. Not with the max predicted to be 96-98 F.
Seeds will go in again in September.
