First flowers on the Sonoran White Tepary beans on day 35 after planting .
This patch is within the promised 40 days from planting to bean.
The other, ostensibly healthier patch in a different section of garden has darker green, more lush leafy growth but no flowers yet: richer soil?
As a partner gardener with Native Seeds Search I watch these babes closely. I have a commitment to return at least 150 (but I want it to be 350) seeds of this indigenous, Southwest bean variety, Phaseolus acutifolius, to the seed bank in Tucson, AZ.
