Just as predictions for below freezing overnight temperatures started to become more common, the courtyard Meyer Lemon decked itself out in blossoms and buds.
The tree was put in a pot so it could move inside in winter, but what about pollination? The tree, after all, was meant to be providing lemons for the kitchen, not just perfuming the winter house.
I was thinking about researching hand pollination. There were some mild days with warm midday temperatures. All the hacienda doors were opened up to allow the beautiful warm winter air to circulate. I detest the stagnation of long closed up living spaces.
Magic! bees discovered the lemon blossoms. Inside the house.
