Hotel Saravana Bhavan

Writer: kaydee777kaydee777

Today’s haul from the garden: two beautiful big Black Beauty eggplant, San Marzano tomatoes, a young Jing orange okra, sweet green bell peppers and a few little Thai hot peppers.

I am all out of tahini, making baba ganoush not an option. I am thinking my main meal today will be that standard Punjabi dish which seems to be found on every Indian Restuarant menu, Bhaingan Bharta, (eggplant curry).

Footnote: Why is my kitchen Hotel Saravana Bhavan today? It’s the biggest south Indian restaurant chain in the world with branches in 22 countries, besides the more than 30 locations in India. Hotel Saravana Bhavan is so not a backstreet, home kitchen. I’m being ironic. Did I have to say that? I’ve been living sans interlocutor in Coyote Town, waMerika, too long.

Anyway Bhaingan Bharta is a north Indian (Punjabi) dish.

If you don’t know, now you know.
