Getting outside the box

For this week’s go play outside and find horizons date I walked a small stretch of the West Lakeshore Trail in Elephant Butte Lake State Park.

I’m still banned from paddling while rotator cuff heals.

The desert in late winter has a beautiful, muted, earth colour palette with flares of gold and yellow-green catching my eye.

Small patches of snow nestled still in south facing shadows but the afternoon sun was honeywarm.

A small sailboat sketched additional geometry on the scene

Arcing over it all, the impossibly blue wrap around enchantment of sky.
