Stalking turtles

Stalking turtles in late afternoon light on the strong, and willful, grey green god of a Rio Grande. 

it was a hard paddle upstream to the dam wall with the rio in spate: powerful and headstrong with a belly full of irrigation release, little plastic kayak spinning dizzy on the currents and eddies for a fast float back down.
