Milagro beanfield 6th Avenue edition


This season’s milagro bean field. Early April I cultivated a random patch of apparently blank earth at the #6thavenueshala . April 15 planted Painted Mountain flint corn seed and Black Valentine bush beans. By April 22 the pioneering spears of corn. And an indescribable amount of goatsheads devil thorns seedlings(ugh to the latter). A 

A host of goatsheads have germinated. Pesky pioneers of this desert landscape.

This might just be the first Black Valentine bush bean germinating.

All water has to be carried here in a flock of colorful plastic Chinese watering cans. Utilities are still switched off. Long story that but blame State of New Mexico (in part) .
